Arumie’s who travel: Enjoy a bite in Wollongong

Luke and James checked out the buzz around Sauce, a trendy new burger spot in Figtree, NSW.

The secret to a great burger is all in the sauce according to the owners of Sauce, a popular new burger restaurant in Figtree NSW.

Opening last year, Sauce already has a cult following, and for good reason it seems.

Our participants, Luke and James, checked out what all the hype is about and tried the burgers for themselves.

“We had burgers and chips, and we were all very happy with the quality and quantity,” said Support Worker, Tim.

The restaurant’s owners want to bring different flavours and spices to the table, encouraging customers to be adventurous with their food choice.

The husband-and-wife duo, Nishita Koli and Goutham Arya Thota, are originally from India.

“In our culture, sauces are a big deal,” Goutham told the Illawarra Mercury, “They’re what brings a dish together and makes it pop. We wanted our restaurant to be all about the sauce – hence the name.”

Sauce isn’t just about the burgers either. The restaurant is also known for its coffee and brunch menu.

Overall, accessibility is good. There’s accessible parking nearby and no stairs to enter Sauce. There is one step inside the restaurant though.

Burgers cost between $12 to $24.

Luke, James, and Tim’s Sauce rating: 5/5

“It’s one of the best places in Wollongong!”
