Mark’s 50th was a touch down!

Aruma resident Mark, celebrates a milestone birthday with his favourite NRL team - the Wests Tigers.

Warabrook resident, Mark Groth grew up around sports. As big fan of the footy and cricket, there could be no better way to celebrate a milestone birthday than with friends at an NRL game featuring his favourite team, the Wests Tigers.

“To help Mark celebrate turning the big 50, our friends over at NIB Thrive helped us to secure tickets for Mark and friends to go watch the Knights vs Tigers,” said Bobby Newton, Customer Engagement Manager.

Seated close to the action on the lower level, right by the fence, Mark cheered on his team and enjoyed some drinks and chips – a game day essential!

Although the outcome didn’t go the Tigers’ way, Mark still had a fantastic time kicking off his birthday celebrations with his fiancé Fiona and a couple of friends.

Mark hosted a party on Saturday night and when his birthday finally rolled around on the Monday, he was treated to a cake at Access Industries workplace.

“We had cake. We are still going on the cake actually. For my birthday I got an Apple watch and an apron for when we BBQ. I cook on Mondays and Saturdays, and everybody loves when I do a BBQ,” said Mark.

Not just a sports fan on the sidelines, Mark is actively involved in his local clubs and is currently having a better season than the Tigers.

“I play League Tag and cricket for All Ability. We have a couple more weeks of League Tag and we’re going pretty well. This is my sixth season in the league.”
