An 8-week group program for children and teens to build social skills, friendships and confidence with meaningful excursions into the community.
Social squad is an 8-week community support group program for children and teenagers who would like to build their social skills and engage in meaningful community participation. Sessions consist of skill-building fun in a group setting and meaningful excursions into the community.
We have several groups available, running at Bayswater and in the community:
Group 1: 9-12 year-olds – Tuesdays (4-6pm) Group 2: 13-16 year-olds – Wednesdays (4-6pm) Group 3: 14-17 year-olds – Mondays (4-6pm)
We are now accepting expressions of interest for Friday and Saturday groups. Please note, weekend groups will only go ahead if we receive enough interest.
Social squad takes proven methods successfully used in our individual community support programs to help teens grow a range of essential skills in a fun group setting.
Across eight carefully planned sessions, we help kids and teens gain the skills and confidence needed to build friendships and access their community.
Social squad also guides group members through the process of planning and executing social excursions designed to facilitate incidental learning.
NDIS funding can be used if you are self-managed or plan-managed.
You can also pay for this program outright (fee-for-service).
