Autism 101 – A thorough introduction to autism

Are you new to clinical practice and find yourself confused or overwhelmed when working with autistic children? Are you a teacher trying to manage the complexities of neurodivergent students? Are you a maternal and child health nurse trying to determine if a preschooler needs further assessment for autism?

Autism 101 was designed just for you! This workshop equips participants with a foundational knowledge of autism and the surrounding infrastructure that parents, carers and children rely on for their support needs.

This workshop provides early childhood professionals with:

• A foundational and comprehensive understanding of autism
• The key criteria for diagnosis
• Differences in social interaction, communication and behaviours
• How to spot the possible signs of autism
• How to support the diagnostic process
• A brief overview of NDIS funding options as well as programs for students with a disability (PSD funding)

Cost: $150 (including GST)

Each autism workshop will run for approximately 2 hours and can be attended independently. Book both 101 and 102 and save $50 on your total cost!
